On Friday 16th September we all enjoyed a lovely Harvest festival in church. Thank you to all the all the parents, carers and family members who joined us in church for last Friday’s Harvest Festival!! There were many gifts of tins and packets given to the Food Bank, and the children read, sung and performed beautifully.
Once the service for the school was over, we then moved the Food Gifts to the window sills and then the Church started to be decorated for the Sunday.
Did you know… Harvest Festival is traditionally held on the Sunday near or of the Harvest Moon. This is the full Moon that occurs closest to the autumn equinox (22nd or 23rd September). Wikipedia says that the celebrations on this day usually include singing hymns, praying, and decorating churches with baskets of fruit and food…
and at THT…that’s what we did!!
